Lead actress and co-writer Erica Bardin talks with Jesus Figueroa, @ThisFunktional of, about TV pilot SHEPHERDS being part of Dances With Films.

As an official selection of the 2021 Dances With Films (happening in-person in Los Angeles Aug. 26-Sept 12), we're leading the pilots section at the festival.  The incredibly timely “Shepherds”  a 5150 Production is helmed by an incredible female filmmaking team led by director Lauren Fash  (“Through The Glass Darkly”), and Star & Co-Writer Erica Bardin (“Natural Hazards,” 2 Girls 1 Cop”), this dramatic, half hour finds it’s comedy through character flaws and moral ambiguity. Shot on both film (16mm), where we have the gritty underbelly of big pharma and digital offers a psychedelic brave new world of alternative medicine. When dedicated pharmaceutical researcher Madison Shepherds (Bardin) gets fired by her boss (Ishibashi), she opens up an underground psychedelic therapy clinic with her terminally ill father (Mulkey) and hippie best friend (Gonzales). They run the Shepherds Clinic from the attached garage in her parents’ home in Tucson, unbeknownst to her mother (Severance), a Republican senator heavily financed by big pharma.
